Are you a used car trader in Japan and ready to shop for a used car? Below are some useful tips and checklists you will need to examine when you need to inspection for trading a Japanese used car.
General Inspection
- Examine the used car in day time or in an area with plenty of light. You must require a safe space to easily open and check the doors and to walk around.
- Compare with your research material. If that Japanese used car you want to trade have all the equipment that were indicated in your research? If not note down what are missing.
- Make a note of all removable items in that used car. Identify which of these are included in the sale.
- Confirm about the service records in the Glove box. See the oil change sticker, was that changed few days ago?
- Note the VIN so that you can review it later with a vehicle background reporting company like CARFAX.com. You can easily check the details about that Japanese used car before trading to get its complete history report.
Inspecting the Exterior of the Japanese used car
- Do hubcaps and wheels match all round? Check if all the tires have the safe tread?
- Check all the panels separately and see if there are any scratches, chips, runs, overspray, drips and the like. Compare panels with each and other to check the color match.
- Make sure that trim and other items are attached to the exterior or not, missing of any of these items may ask you to do expensive replacement.
Inspecting the Interior of used car in Japan
- Take away all seat covers and sit on each of them to check the condition.
- Press on each airbag cover to sense if they are still present there. If signs of glue or tampering appear, it means that airbag is missing.
- Drag on all the seat belts. Check for excessive wear and ensure they pull back properly.
- Examine the headliner for the damages.
- If the car is with all power features, check windows, mirrors, seats, convertible top, sunroof or any other feature available with power features.
